Notes while listening
7%: Absolutely excellent thus far. However, my spidey senses tell me there's going to be some possible child abuse in the explanation of what's going on, and I am soooooo not up for that. Plus, it's set in a very racist South. Given the political climate it's just too close to the bone at the moment. I doubt I'll get through the whole book...but that shouldn't deter you if those things don't mess with your head like mine. It really is absolutely excellent written.
17%: Ah. Yes. What I feared has turned up, giving me chills. I'm forwarding to the last 30 minutes to catch the end. I feel sad, as it really is an excellent book...but I just can't handle it.
As a by-the-by, the audiobook is absolutely excellent. Adam Lazzarre-White is absolutely phenomenal. It was a pleasure to listen to him.I did indeed ffwd to the last 30 minutes. There were some things going on there that I didn't understand as I'd skipped 75% of the book. However, I picked up on it pretty fast. The ending was satisfying. However, I was distressed to realize Titus was out of there. Who can blame him though? I want to be out of here too, tbh.
One of the best narrators I've ever heard. Absolutely excellent. I will be keeping my eye out for other books narrated by Lazzarre-White. Very well written book. I just couldn't handle the subject matter. Too disturbing for me.
